Want to get into medicing but i so stuck in a rutt?!?

I had to leave college as my mum couldnt afford to keep us both afloat let alone afford food, so i left with a qualification after a year of btec applied science. now i dont know where to head because i have no full qualification i have excellent GSCE's grades and i want to go into healthcare ideally nuring or oncology nursing , but i am stuck in this dead end job which is finally keeping me and my mum affloat and paying of the bills. But im 19 years old next week and the clock is ticking what am i going to do, i dont want to be serving burgers all my life i want to do something worth while but not end up living in porverty again please hellp

This sounds ridiculous, but I was scooping ice cream at a friend's house and they must have a sub zero freezer because my finger started tingling and burning while I was scooping it out. I had to use my finger to get the ice cream which was sticking to the scooper off. I went to run it under warm water but I accidentally turned the cold on first and it felt hot to me. I then let it warm up and it still felt hot even though it was just warm. It is now 4 hours later and my finger is burning, tingling, and feeling kind of numb but there isn't really much color difference. It might just be slightly more red than my other fingers. No blisters or anything like that. It does feel a little tight around the skin on the tip of it. I put soothing cream on it but it is just burning and hurts worse when I touch it on anything. It's pretty painful!

I've been to the dentist today and have been discussing options for the 2 gaps in between my teeth. Both number 2 teeth were knocked out as a child and as a result now i have 2 1cm(ish) gaps, one either side of my front teeth. All the options sounded great but so expensive. Well I was considering moving to arizona to live with my grandmother for quite a few reasons, it's warmer there, and there wouldn't be snow, and because I loved spending time with grandma as a kid. My grandparents moved from illinois to arizona when I was like 7 or 8 years old. My grandpa recently passed away in April, and grandma has other family in arizona to rely on, (my uncle, and his kids) and a few other family members but I mentioned moving in with grandma, because it's the only way I could afford to move out west to Arizona. My grandma sent me an email with a few things to consider such as if I was okay with staying in her guest room/sewing room & I told her I was, I thought it was a done deal I was moving out their, until I realized my grandma wants to talk with my dad about it, and my dad says she has strong reservations about it, not that she wouldn't be excited to have me their but grandma pretty much suggested going out and staying with her for a month on a vacation while we talked about all this. I thought it was a done deal, that I was moving out their (im unemployed in illinois) so I would have to look for a job and such out in Arizona. I'm really just wondering what strong reservations really means. I mean, I flat out told her that I didn't want to be a burden, is this her way of being polite and saying it may be a burden? She keeps telling me to consider other things like car insurance for a vehicle and legalizing it, considering I would have to sell my car and then buy another one out there, im just worried she will find reasons not to consider it. I'm 16, 5'4'', ive run cross country and track for 3 years (going on 4), and eat very healthy. recently, I gained 50 pounds in the last 7 months... I have been running and eating healthier, but my weight still somehow goes up.. In the last week, I've gained 15 pounds. What's happening!? I run miles a day and eat an average of 7-8 servings of vegetables a day. Fiber has no effect on me. I'm tired ALL THE TIME. can someone tell me what to do? i used to have nightmares that i was this fat... its all out of control! i went to the doctor today and she had my blood drawn. she didnt seem too concerned about the FIFTY POUNDS. she thinks its because my growth spurts are over and i just need to start watching it...but FIFTY POUNDS?! ive never had a growth spurt. I worked in a job,a very physically demanding job,for 10 years.I worked days and there was another employee in the same job as me on second shift.For the three years he was employed there Im guessing of 100% of the total work done 95% was done by me . Fellow employees would attest,as it was a running joke in our company for 3 years.3 years ago I was diagnosed with some very serious medical problems and 2 years ago I had surgery which was supposed to significantly limit my duties at work according to restrictions placed on me.My restrictions were broken daily,which I relize I was partly responsible for,and Im not afraid to say that my workload if anything increased instead of decreasing.While in turn my counterparts on 2nd shift decreased.Basically I was doing 99% of the work while he mostly slept at night or was never even there..My foreman informed me at least 15 times of how this employee was going to be fired for not doing his job and for even stealing from the company.In November,over the Thanksgiving weekend,I had worked feverishly to keep my jobsite afloat working all four days while other employees were off and our job was shut down.My counterpart also"worked" these four days and it was known by my foreman that he done absolutlely nothing the whole time he was there.The following Monday I had a near death experience as ,according to my Dr.,the over exertion from the previous 4 days had caused me to pass out,falling face first in 8" of water.A fellow employee saw it happen and pulled me out..After four days in the hospital I was informed by my employer that they no longer had anything for me at my jobsite to accomodate my restrictions.Im going to give you 1 guess at who has my job now..Yes your right my counterpart from second shift.With everyone I worked with in the entire company knowing that I was being "worked like a dog" and this guy was "getting away with murder" do I have any recourse against anyone be it the company,the foreman or the employee for me no longer having a job.I mean is it fair or is there a law against working one guy to death and then replacing him with the reason he was worked to death..

I'm a 19 year old girl. My best friend stopped calling me her best friend and started calling someone else their best friend. I am trying to get ready to move out but I don't really have many friends and don't know who I would live with. Is there any way to stay cool while i dry my hair ?

So its summer and I don't have air conditioning because basically its not needed where i live the nice weather here only lasts 2-3 months and even then the warmest it gets is (28-30 degrees Celsius) and that is on a good day its usually any were from 20-25. But my house is really warm already how can i stay cool when i dry and or straighten my hair... I have on a fan and my windows opened is there any other ways that i could be able to stay cool ?

Hair problems.. could this be caused by my diet?

I'm 17, and I've been vegetarian for about a year and a half, and vegan for a little over a year. Recently I've been having a lot of breakage in my hair; I have lots of split ends, and in bright light it looks like it's splitting almost all the way up my hair. I don't use a blow dryer, and I very rarely use a curling iron or straightener. I never seemed to have this problem until just a few months ago. Do you think it could possibly be caused by my diet? I eat a good amount of protein, probably at least fifty grams a day.

He did one session with a drug counselor and stopped going. I continued therapy and took antidepressants. His lies continued. I also was unemployed and living with a friend so I couldn't pay my bills so I'm now have to file bankruptcy but cant afford to. He hasn't filed the divorce claiming he has no money but makes 60k year when I only grossed 23k for the last year. My only contribution to the household was 300 mo for part of the utilities. After I moved, he moved In two friends as roommates so that should have kept him afloat. The problem is he is a compulsive liar. But I do have medical documents and my earnings from last year. He refuses to give me anything and I can't afford a lawyer. On top of the financial aspect I have been an emotional wreck. I loved him and I.don't know why this happened. I like my whole life is upside down.

Loveless marriage but 3 beautiful children to consider?

In brief this is me - put in orphanage aged 2 and adopted by strict catholic parents aged 4. DREAM - to one day get married and have children of my own. Simple. My adoptive parents - relationship not so good - shame, but it's not easy I suppose, bringing up someone else's kid. Anyway, growing up developed flushing/roscea disorder - inherited! Not much fun, everyone thinks that your embarrassed easily, when it just comes on from many things! Affects the confidence alot and makes it difficult to find person to love me (and DREAM!). Finally find a man who accepts my red face and we marry - after 8yrs of dating - married now for 11yrs. DREAM finally fulfilled - 3 beautiful children all under 8yrs at present. One with mild autism. Problem - not children - although alot of work - no family support - but husband has switched off. Barely talks to me, can't be bothered to do anything properly and gives me the following answers - "It didn't occur to me", "I didn't think", "I'll do it next time" but he just doesn't care. I constantly work hard to help my children especially the one with special needs but my husband has never picked up a book or researched anything that might show he has an interest in helping his kids. When the children fall over, he ignores them and if I say "look! he just fell over," he says "I didn't see" even if they are crying. When he is meant to be supervising them, if something happens, he blames them - even the 3yr old. I tell him that when your in charge of a small child, you have to take the responsibility for them, especially when so young, but he doesn't see it. Treats them as if they are adults and they should have known! I try to talk about how everything has fallen apart and he just says O.K. O.K. Needless to say, we don't have sex anymore - I cannot risk becoming pregnant again with this man and I don't want sex with someone who is treating us like this. I am just about keeping us afloat at the moment. Our finances are not great and when I try to talk about it and express my anxieties about our situation and what we should do, he says "I'll look into it" - but he never does. I'm really frightened about our future. I often think that we should split as its awful being tied to someone who has decided to opt out, when there is so much responsibility. My big, big concern is our 3 children. They would be devastated and I do not want to jeopardise the progress of our special needs child, or the other two boys who do not see the flaws in their father yet as they are so young. I have no family and I lack confidence in myself. I'm pretty exhausted. I hope I don't sound sorry for myself, because I'm not, and although I may feel terrible about it all, I am not "depressed" - don't have time for it. I always wanted a real family, and now I have one, finally after all this time, but I'm fighting hard to keep it. Why is he doing this? It nearly feels like he's doing it on purpose. But why? If he wants to go, then maybe he should. I have a gut feeling that he wants to go (as the going has got tough) but his biggest fear is what people will think of him leaving us, instead of what it will do to us. The flaws didn't show too much before we had children, as he's fine at going on holidays and watching t.v. He has never stood by me when there has been incidents where a husband/friend would stick up for you but I didn't mind when it was just me, because I was grateful to have a boyfriend/husband. But now, he doesn't stick up for the children either and that's hard to stomach especially since my oldest has suffered bullying. I suppose its a feeling of being on my own with it all and this person just floats in the house and out and is called husband and daddy! What should I do? I was thinking that maybe I should do the stay together for the sake of the children scenario - until they grow up - and then we can call it a day. But that's harder than it seems with him, because he's opted out so much. Any serious advice please, this is our lives and although I do enjoy humour - this one isn't funny. I think you could easily find more information on line if you google homemade diapers. Finding the best clothe - grade of cotton would be important also. Research it online. And be prepared to have several bins with tops on them. Take the soiled diapers and rinses them right away - then put into the bins with the lids on top. After you wash them, you may want to put them thru a 2nd rinse as many new borns are very sensitive so soaps. Also use a detergent that has no extra additives in it. I think maybe Purex is one. Read the labels. If you want to save a little money and have the time. Try rinsing them a second time in a separate but large tub. Then dry in dryer or hang on an inside or outside line. Hanging them inside or out will save you electricity costs as the dryer uses more electrical $$. Yes, in spite of all this, using your own diapers can save you lots and be very very good for you children. Keep an extra box of store bought disposable diapers handy in case you get tired or sick or unable for a few days to keep up with the home made diapers. Don't know Patch this one is dodgy indeed. They are already claiming more on expenses and getting away with it than they did before, under the new rules to sort out the expenses fraud. Within 3 months of this government taking power the short fall in MPs pensions was paid up in full by the taxpayers. It came to tens of millions. They voted on that as well and the vote was unanimous. I reckon they will ring fence their own pensions or make new rules to cover themselves. Questions about food stamps (snap) application and phone interview?

Because of unfortunate circumstances revolving around being laid off and other unmentionables, my husband and I decided to fill out an application for food stamps. No, we are not proud of this and no, we do not intend to make this long term or abuse the system! Just need to be able to feed ourselves and daughter till I get back on my feet and successfully find employment . Here is my question. After turning in the application, I received in the mail a letter titled Request for Contact. In this letter I am advised to call and schedule a phone interview. Now, on the back of the letter there are several requirements in which I am supposed to provide proof for to be eligible. The Case Manager or whatever the name may be for the person interviewing me only checked off Proof of Income. Now I am worried. Did he only check off that one requirement because we do not stand a chance to be eligible and this determination can be found out with just our income (or what's left of it)? Or is that a good sign that the process will be quick and painless? Also, I have read that there can be deductions made to what income you have to help you qualify. How does this work and how much will be deducted for gas, electric, rent and medical care? Any mature, thoughtful answers will be appreciated. We are really trying to stay afloat during what has become our most difficult time.

Finding the right doctor is a very important thing. You need to be strong enough to first tell your current doctor about your belief or feeling that she is not fulfilling your needs, then you need to be strong enough to select a different doctor if her answer does not satisfy you. Please consider the psychological need you have to maintain contact. If you explore that with this doctor and still feel as though your are not progressing, you should look for someone else.

I've been in your shoes. When one is down, having a more compassionate doctor helps someone. The last thing a person wants is to have a person that is the opposite of that. People in that career should be more understanding. Just know that you aren't alone when it comes to insurance and different types of doctors. Try to take her at face value and know it's not you. It's her personality and nothing personal towards you. As far as email is concerned, my doctor didn't like me emailing her either. Don't they realize email is how people communicate these days? I know they like seeing one face to face, but in between appts would be nice if they didn't mind emails. About the medications, I'm on medications and I feel much better. If they can help you feel better in life, give them a try. Sometimes though, they have to find the right medication for you; therefore, you may have to go thru different ones until you find the one that works for you. And remember that they don't work right away. also, the way we think, determines how we feel. It's not easy, but try teaching yourself that. Lastly, hang in there. You aren't alone!

Have not filed back taxes in many many years?

I have been taking care of a couple of elderly parents for many years. I bought and sold various equipment to keep afloat while caring for my parents and their daily medical problems. I haven't filed tax returns in many many many years, maybe since 1996. I can't verify anything with W-2 or 1099 or any other forms because I wasn't working FOR an employer. I have NOT been contacted by the IRS or my state. Do I just give a generic number of what I "think" I earned? I think a few companies did a 1099 form on me for $500 or so. Is there hope after a DUI?

Dam, I feel like my life is just over. I got my first DUI. I blew a 0.089. I was on my way to go see my son in Utah from California. I thought me and my x-wife were going to get back toghether and then on the way there she basicly said no, don"t bother coming up "it's over." Anyways, I got all bent out of shape over this and drank over it. The next morning after getting a few hours of sleep I continued on my way to Utah still hoping for the best. But while on my long journey I got busted. It's been all hell since then. I just don't know what to do. I feel like my life is over and I'm just hopeless. I don't know how to keep my life afloat. u gotta practice your scales and arpeggios. the reason ur having trouble playing fast is because your left and rite hands are not in sync with eachother. once thats taken care of, it really just becomes a matter of getting comfortable with what your trying to play. because unless theres a physically taxing quality to it, like a very wide stretch for instance...it just boils down to picking the same way you did to play those scales. and the scales are the simplest way to address that problem.

So my dad just walked into my room and somewhere in one of my drawers is a watch that goes off at about five, well it went off while he was in my room and I asked him if he heard it and he said he couldn't hear anything? Caring for a wild baby rabbit?

I recently discovered two baby rabbits my dog had found, the dog killed one and had the other in its mouth. I was able to rescue it and brought it inside. Its eyes are open but it doesn't seem to be able to walk. I don't think the dog paralyzed it because if you pick it up it strains to get away. I hope to get it to a wildlife group in the next few days. At the moment I have it in a basket on a towel. Is there anything I should do until the group can take it? Looks like my angle fish is going to die as I was misinformed by the petshop. I have been wanting to place my American Pit Bull Terrier in to 'dock diving' competitions (Like my other three dogs are) as he can pivot himself quite a distance in to our pool, and he absolutely loves water. My kids would also love for him to be able to swim in the pool with them. The problem is that he can't swim - He tries his hardest but he still sinks. My APBT is very top heavy so as soon as he hits the water his rear lifts straight up in the air and as you can guess his upper body (including his head) goes under the water, and i have to 'rescue' him as i am 99% sure he will drowned. His legs will be moving a mile a minute (He knows HOW to swim, he just can't stay afloat). This has been going on for two summers in a row. Me my mom and dad were living in another town from my brother about two hours away. He was living with my other older brother for a while and he ended up going crazy and was put in a mental hospital for a week. So my mom living two hours away came to town to see what was going on with him. He got out the place and wanted my mom to move back to town so he could live with her i believe. She decided to leave were she was living and came back so did my dad and i. Here i been living with my parents and older brother that was in the mental hospital. My wife is lazy, what can I do?

My wife and I have been married for almost 4 years. About 9 months ago she quit her job when her daughter started school because between travel, work, and childcare expenses we were losing money with her working. She started out doing well with the stay at home mom idea, kept the house decently clean and keeping the kid focused and well behaved. The last 5 months though she has become lazy. I am working almost 70 hours a week in a new job and just keeping us barely afloat and she won't even do the dishes, laundry, or keep a decent eye on the child. She didn't do dishes for 4 weeks and finally i did them because I couldn't take it anymore. The child runs rampant and has become a discipline problem both at home and school. Anytime I try to make her behave I am verbally assaulted. The child's father has never been in her life and she has always called me dad. I have raised her since she was a year old and try my best to be a good father to her. My wife recently has gotten out of hand with her behaviors as well. She has a history of abusing prescription pain killers and recently fell back off the wagon. I have had it up to here with her behavior, but I know if I leave then the child will be screwed. Her mother doesn't cook anymore she just orders take out or tv dinners. She doesn't seem to care if the child is in school most of the time ( the child is 5 ) or the fact that the child isn't developing her reading skills. I have on more than one occasion threaten to call the school and tell them she is missing because her mother is lazy which prompted her to take the kid. Bottom line if I leave the kid gets screwed and according to a lawyer I spoke with I have no legal rights to take her. Her bio father is a complete deadbeat and my in-laws are of very little to no support. They don't have alot of contact with my wife except when it is convenient to them. My mother thinks I should just leave and wash my hands of the whole thing and my grandmother says to tough it out. My dad and I haven't been speaking lately due to another issue. My wife also keeps us broke because of her spending habits and doesn't seem to understand that paying rent is not a gratuity. I found out she hadn't paid in two months after she told me she had and wound up spending our tax return paying rent instead of putting tires and brakes on the car. Car overheating? What is the problem?

I have an older car 96 Olds. In the warmer months the temp gauge seems to go a little high. The hottest temp it goes to on my gauge is 280 and the needle gets to approx 240 at times. When the car is moving fast like freeway driving it stays lower 210-220 maybe. When I am city driving or idoling it goes right up high. Would a coolant flush and fill help this problem? Also it is ok to drive a car running hotter like this. I have to wait a week for a payday to get it looked at. Any ideas would be helpful. I just don't want to ruin anything. Thank you.

It is not wrong. You are who you are and who you choose and want to be. If you feel like you might be the oppisite sex of what you are then.... You might just be (: dont let anyone tell you different. Life is what you make it. So if you make it seem wrong then people will view it that way. But if you make it seem like nothings wrong, then who would we be to rain on your parade? Be YOU.

Question about FAFSA student loans?

alright well there's a college that i desperately want to transfer to. i just got my associate's degree and want to go for my bachelor's. however, my parents don't have the money to send me to the college of my chouce. so i heard about FAFSA and am not really sure how it works. so if anyone could explain how it works through the school and everything that would help. also, i'm worried that i won't even be able to recieve any money from FAFSA to begin with. my dad owns a business and makes good money but it barely keeps his business afloat. but on paper we look like we have money to blow and will probably be scoffed by student loan places and such. or so my parents said. at my old college they only offered to pay 200 dollars per year!!!! if i can't get a student loan then i'm basically screwed so any suggestions?

Need help with singing!?

I have never taken lessons, but I kinda like to sing. The only problem is whenever I sing I get a sore throat. Can anybody tell me how to change this, and how to warm up?

This sounds ridiculous, but I was scooping ice cream at a friend's house and they must have a sub zero freezer because my finger started tingling and burning while I was scooping it out. I had to use my finger to get the ice cream which was sticking to the scooper off. I went to run it under warm water but I accidentally turned the cold on first and it felt hot to me. I then let it warm up and it still felt hot even though it was just warm. It is now 4 hours later and my finger is burning, tingling, and feeling kind of numb but there isn't really much color difference. It might just be slightly more red than my other fingers. No blisters or anything like that. It does feel a little tight around the skin on the tip of it. I put soothing cream on it but it is just burning and hurts worse when I touch it on anything. It's pretty painful!

I know we are giving them money my sister in law and her husband but I don't know how much to gift. Shes made comments about it costing around 50 a plate and that she thought the rule was u gift cost plus 50. Ive heard of covering you plate but not plus fifty. I'm also a little annoyed as at our wedding she gave us a 200 dollar wii (which was an awesome gift that we really appreciate) but based on her thinking her entire family cost us 450 (just the reception not even including there accomadations and attire we paid) to have at the wedding plus her 50 rule she should have given us 500 (which I would hope most ppl think is ourtragous cause i do). How to float in water for 5 minutes?

Like any kind of floating? If you can do a nice backstroke, you will be able to float fine. I am a backstroker and to float, i just lay back, stay calm, and just watch the clouds. I guess something that will help is to keep a lot of oxygen in your body. But anyways, the main thing is to just stay calm and relax to float. You don't wanna go crazy and start sinking.

A tree or bush question?

My family and I just moved into home on about 2 acres this winter and as the weather has gotten much warmer lately I was walking around my yard the other day and saw a couple of trees and bushes that both have red berries and black berries also. My question is does anyone know if this could be a raspberry or black raspberry tree or if black and red raspberries even come on a tree. We also have bushes with the same berries as the tree. The berries are red or black and both colors seem ripe not like they are unripe still. I would love for this to be a black raspberry tree but dont want to fool myself either. 2 year old ball python won't eat mouse.?

I just got him. The guy who sold him to me said I should feed him today, so i bought frozen mice. took the snake to the store with me, showed the clerk and he told me exactly what size mouse that snake should be eating. I thawed the mouse in warm water for 20 min. made sure it was warm before putting it in tank with snake. the snake responded well. spending at least 3 hours wrapping itself around the mouse. smelling it, licking it. then went in his little house a fell asleep. still wont eat the mouse. the previous owner fed him live mice, so is that a huge issue?

Ok so ive been working out alot and have lost 65 pounds but now I'm always hungry, and I eat a lot now, but still seem to be losing weight. I do run seven miles everyday. Did my metabolism speed up and is that what's causing it? I've actually stopped dieting and have eased the restrictions on what I eat, but I'm still losing weight. I'm about two pounds away from being considered underweight and i dont know why. Ive also been going to the bathroom more and I feel warmer than usual.

I grew up in Raleigh, and as a child I used to get sick from the heat, but we didn't have a/c. Now I'm fifty, and considering moving back. I just came from visiting Georgia, and although I would be inside 95% of the time, with good a/c, I did feel a little unwell during the visit and so I'm curious. If you're inside almost all the time, with a/c, does that mean it's basically the same as if you are in a cool climate, or does the heat and humidity still affect you?

Using magnets to create perpetual motion?

Let's say I have permanent magnets set up in a sort of half sphere with the inside of the sphere pointing up and it laying flat on a table and then I have a ball with, let's say, half the radius of the half sphere. The ball has the same permanent charge as the half sphere. I place the ball over the half sphere. The ball and half sphere would repel each other and the ball would remain still and afloat. If I sent the ball on a spin, wouldn't it continue to spin ignoring air friction? I've always heard that perpetual motion is impossible on Earth, so what's wrong with this scenario? I think that it would depend on how much time i had to prepare for the disaster or what disaster it was. I live on an island where if there was a mega tsunami everyone could get to high ground before the wave killed the lowlands and beaches. It is also in an earthquake zone but i don't see how that's a big danger unless you are inside if the nearby volcano erupted then ash could get into lungs causing slow death, but i am far enough away that i would never have to worry about lava getting that far. The only things i could see that would pose a large threat to my little island are meteors and nukes and maybe Godzilla.

Why is my uncle so unsatisfied?

They have 3 kids that ALL grew up. They are 29,28, and 26. The oldest one got a GED and is barely making enough to stay afloat. The other dropped out of High school and wound up in jail for drug abuse. Now the third one went to grad school and became a Lawyer. He does very well, makes a nice living, and by his firm's raise chart, he will make 6 figures when he is 35. My uncle feels like he failed as a parent, since my aunt died 2 years ago from alcohol. he went broke fueling her addiction, and was also giving my cousin drug money. Now they ALL live with Geoff(lawyer), and he cannot start a family while trying to support his dad and siblings. My uncle has now turned his anger toward Geoff, saying that he should have done more to 'compensate' for the other two. i think that is ridiculous, and i want somebody to explain why he would feel like that

I'm just going to get to the point I have a very painful bump on my vagina lip. On the left side. I hope that makes sense. Its hurts really bad & from what I can tell it has no head meaning I don't think I can pop it. its the size of maybe a quarter or a fifty cent piece. I can hardly walk that it hurts so bad. I had the same bump about 2 months ago on my inner thigh. It went in about a week. I noticed that after it left I started to want to itch where the bump was at and also my skin was peeling where the bump was on my thigh. I notice if I put hot compress on It like a hot towel or something hot it decreases in size. I don't know what this is please help!
