Question about FAFSA student loans?

alright well there's a college that i desperately want to transfer to. i just got my associate's degree and want to go for my bachelor's. however, my parents don't have the money to send me to the college of my chouce. so i heard about FAFSA and am not really sure how it works. so if anyone could explain how it works through the school and everything that would help. also, i'm worried that i won't even be able to recieve any money from FAFSA to begin with. my dad owns a business and makes good money but it barely keeps his business afloat. but on paper we look like we have money to blow and will probably be scoffed by student loan places and such. or so my parents said. at my old college they only offered to pay 200 dollars per year!!!! if i can't get a student loan then i'm basically screwed so any suggestions?
