My Xbox 360 Slim get pretty hot. Is that normal?

it dosent get scorching hot but it does gets vary VARY VARY WARM around the bottm corner by the grill i mean reeely warm to the touch. Any warmer and it would be fuul BLOWN HOT. Im afraid its whats causeing the video skip every once and so offen.
