Why does a heavy ship stay afloat if the same weight in steel rectangular containers quickly sinks?

A. The ship moves fast enough through the water that it does not sink. B. The ship is simply too big to sink in the water. C. The weight of water displaced by the ship is only equal to the weight of the ship that is under water. D. The amount of water displaced due to the shape of the ship’s hull is enough to support the weight of the ship.
